Thank you again!

We appreciate so much everyone's gifts, time, and energies in making an event-full start of our life together. The day was beautiful... with accomodating weather, friends facilitating the ceremony, helping hands in set-up and tear-down, and gifts to aid us in beginning our life together.

We'll be posting selected photographs of the wedding to this site as we have opportunity.

MLK Neighborhood

Some folks from the MLK Neighborhood Association were watering the new trees in the park and asked for some photos of our wedding. Here are a few that we thought were appropriate.

Commitment to the Community

The first vow was that of commitment to the larger community: fellowship, friends, and family.

Geoff and Sherry Maddock, our friends and leaders in our faith community, led us in this.

Commitment to the Neighborhood

The second vow was that of commitment to our local neighborhood.

Our friends, and very intentional neighbors, Mike and Sarah (and Z!, too) Brown led us in this commitment.

Commitment to the World

Our third vow was that of commitment to the larger world: in issues of peace and justice.

Our "commie-leftie-liberal-green" socially-concious friends Brad and Laura Flowers led us in this commitment.

Commitment of the Community

The fourth commitment was a request of affirmation of the community to us as a couple.

Representing our parents, Clinton's father and Lisa's mother facilitated this commitment.

Footwashing

In an image of service, Jesus washed the feet of his disciples... and mirroring that image, we wanted to wash each other's feet to express our choice to serve each other in our marriage.

Commitment to Each Other

The final commitment was our vows to each other. We wrote these together one evening while sitting on the living room floor of our home-to-be, and we read them here before the witness of God, our family, and friends.
